Ahh, the days when every remodeled exterior wasn't white with black windows. I miss them!
Joanna Gaines' book had just come out and I had massive farmhouse dreams like all of the other Tj Maxx and Hobby Lobby addicts.
This building was our first major remodel. Here, we learned that old buildings are never level and full of surprises. I remember standing on a 12 foot ladder from 8am until 2am for weeks painting, in an attempt to breathe life back into this building. It was hard but it was good to us. It ignited a fire in a few surrounding buildings that change can be good and fresh paint alone can feel like a rebirth.
